Product Retrievals Case Study

Objectives/background:

RQA Europe was contacted at 4pm one Friday afternoon by a client in urgent need of 2000 chocolate bars with specific batch numbers and product ages from the UK market; the products were required to be with the client by the following Wednesday. The 2000 bars were made up of 2 brands (1000 of each) and each 1000 was made up of batches of 10 (100 batches of 10). Each batch of 10 had to have a different batch code that could not be repeated for the remaining 99 batches for that brand and the product ages were not accepted if produced less than 3 months earlier.

Methodology:

In order to complete this project, RQA Europe sent representatives across the UK to retrieve the requested products from various store types (Hypermarkets, Wholesalers, Convenience stores, Fuel Stations to name a few).

Outcome:

In 4 days RQA Europe visited over 350 stores in total to complete the project and the products were retrieved and delivered to meet the Wednesday deadline. The client was also provided with a spreadsheet detailing each code retrieved per batch of 10 and the store name and location purchased. Therefore this entire project was turned around in less than 5 days.
