Recall Role Play at Association of Corporate Counsel Conference

RQA were invited to speak and host a product recall role play exercise at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Europe conference in Antwerp on 5th March http://www.tcp-events.co.uk/acc2009/index.html. The conference was attended by legal counsel and other legal specialists from around Europe. RQA’s Managing Director, Vince Shiers, gave a presentation in the Product Liability Session. His talk covered the effective management of a product recall including several case studies highlighting what to do and what not to do in a recall situation. Vince was joined by Andries Joubert (RQA’s European Business Development Manager) to run a simulated role play exercise where the delegates had to manage an escalating recall crisis for a fictional food company. One of the participants, Mr Panagiotis Perysinakis, Group Commercial Counsel of The Body Shop International Plc, said “The simulated product recall role play was a lively exercise. Not only it was educational, but it was even great fun. Working in teams for just over an hour we felt as if we were faced with a real crisis that we had to manage. Developments took an unexpected turn, and it soon became apparent how important it is to act fast and appropriately in a product recall situation which in fact was the main objective of the workshop.
