New RASFF Search Portal – 04/08/09

 For example, if you are in the milk and milk products business, a search on this database will reveal details of 26 notifications to the RASFF system in that sector so far this year.  Of these 26, 9 were reported by France and 6 by Italy.  Whilst almost all of these cases were caused by some form of microbiological contamination, there was also two cases of improper health certificates, one case of suspected fraud (expiry dates changed), and two cases of foreign body contamination (paper clip and teflon).  Similar searches can be made for over 40 different food categories
