The end of China’s milk scandal company

According to a Reuters report, the Sanlu Dairy Group, the company at the centre of China’s melamine in milk crisis was finally sold for €70m to a Chinese food group, Beijing Sanyuan Group Ltd. The company had declared bankruptcy and its former chairwoman Tian Wenhua jailed for life and fined almost €3m for her role in the crisis. Read More

Product Inflatable Chair Incident Chemical Risk Country United Kingdom Date 27/02/2009	A toy manufacturer has withdrawn a range of its inflatable chairs after finding that the affected products contained an excessive level of phthalates. As such the product poses a risk to consumers and has been voluntarily removed from the market.
Product Motor Vehicle Incident Injuries Country Greece Date 27/02/2009	A Japanese car manufacturer has taken voluntary corrective actions due to incorrect welding of an airbag module. The defect could cause the drivers airbag to not function correctly and reduce the level of protection the airbag could offer. The vehicles produced in the U.K. between certain dates are being recalled.
