Product Recall Consultancy and Training (pre-incident)

Being prepared is essential in business. Our experience over more than 20 years has provided us with the in-depth knowledge required to advise our clients on producing robust and detailed product recall plans.  The services we provide are flexible to meet our clients’ needs. We have developed four modules that work independently or as a whole depending upon your requirements:

1. Scoping Meeting

The initial scoping meeting allows us to get an understanding of your business and current procedures and allows us to explain how best to develop or improve your product recall plans.  This is achieved by meeting your key personnel and discussing the content and layout of a "best practice" product recall plan. Depending upon your needs the outcome of the meeting may be for the RQA consultant to provide a short report with guidance to help you develop your product recall plan or the RQA consultant may start to prepare a draft (with your input) or your product recall plan.

2. Product Recall Procedures

We carry out a complete review of your existing product recall procedures against industry best practice and RQA experience.  Depending upon the complexity of your business and current product recall plan this may either be performed as a desk top review or an on site meeting.  The outcome of either approach is a detailed report describing what improvements can be made to your product recall plan in order to ensure it will best meet the needs of your company.  Of course, with the on site visit there is also the opportunity for the RQA consultant to meet with members of your product recall team and discuss roles and responsibilities, escalation procedures and decision making etc.  Contact us to enquire about our product recall plan review process.

3. Product Recall Training

Our experience in hundreds of actual product recall incidents allows us to provide a high level of realism and practical learning in the training for your product recall team.  We offer two courses in product recall:

Product Recall Level 1 and Product Recall Level 2 - Recall and Reputation.  These courses will enable your team to better manage any future recall incidents. 4. Product Recall Simulation

A product recall simulation is the best way to check whether your business, your team and your product recall plan is prepared for a product recall incident. A scenario is developed that will stretch your product recall team to ensure that they can handle an incident effectively. We use a range of techniques in the scenario to make sure that it is as close to reality as possible, including ‘mock' calls from consumers, the authorities and the media.  After this one day exercise, a full report is prepared by the RQA consultant, including what went well and our recommendations for further improvement.  It is always better to find any gaps in your system in an exercise rather than in a real incident.  For more details click here.
